Introducing “In Service: Notes from the Field”

A space to share ideas, insights, and real-time reflections from our work and community.

At Public Servants, we believe in building trust by working in the open—sharing not just what we’re delivering, but how we’re thinking, learning, and evolving along the way.

That’s why we’re launching In Service: Notes from the Field.

This is our blog—a place for dispatches from inside the work of public service. It’s where we’ll share:

  • How we’re approaching complex challenges alongside government and foundation partners

  • What we’re learning as we navigate policy, equity, and service delivery constraints

  • Tools, ideas, and questions we’re exploring as a team

  • Reflections on the people, principles, and systems that shape this work

Some posts will be polished. Others may feel more in-progress—because the work usually is.

And honestly, so are we.

Public Servants is still a young company, built by people with deep experience but a shared willingness to do things differently. We’re starting small and focused, and we expect our approach to evolve. That means this space will, too. It won’t be a constant stream of content—it’ll be a quiet, regular practice of sharing what feels timely, useful, or unfinished in ways that might help others doing similar work.

We’re writing not to perform expertise, but to connect—especially with public service leaders, funders, and peers who are also navigating complexity with care.

Because being in service isn’t just a job description. It’s a mindset. A shared responsibility. A quiet, regular practice of clarity, creativity, and courage—especially when public service is being undermined, underestimated, or politicized.

We’re here to stay with the work. To double down on what matters. To build in public, where we can.

Thanks for reading—and for being part of this community.
